Parallel Edit - Extra Edit - Editing Unit

Parallel Edit - Extra Edit - Editing Unit

For the Editing Unit, my class and I had to form small groups to create one last edit to complete the unit. We decided to create a 'parallel edit'. A parallel edit is when the two main actors start off in two different locations at the beginning of the footage and meet at the same location at the end of the footage. My group and I tried to convey the parallel edit in the form of a assassination to highlight the protagonist and antagonist to build suspense at the beginning of the edit so the audience can try and guess what the outcome may be.

Self assessment of 'Parallel Edit - Extra Edit'

The things which I thought went well in my parallel edit is that my group and I displayed a range of shots to convey the story within the footage. In my edit, I think I utilized a suitable audio file as it related perfectly to the plot of the parallel edit and I think I timed the footage with the audio quite well

. However, I think I could have cut the audio more effectively as it had to be shortened due to the amount and length of the footage my group and I had filmed. Furthermore, I think my group and I could have used a wider range of shots to create a bigger impact of suspense on the viewing audience.
